Edith and The Kingpins What many critics do not perceive is that the women in his paintings are stronger than the men. He thinks that it is ironic for people to think otherwise and cites as an example, a painting in his forthcoming exhibition, entitled Parlour of Temptation, it depicts a woman nonchalantly lying across a velvet sofa, cigarette in hand arrogantly dismissive of the attentions of a male admirer only part of whose body can be seen - silhouetted against an open doorway.
